WHAT PARENTS GET
Your child gets teaching shaped around their starting point. You get straightforward explanations and regular updates.
We’ll look at relevant English, maths and reasoning skills, use suitable practice questions and discuss where targeted preparation is likely to help.
That’s exactly why we start by looking at strengths, gaps and confidence. I’ll explain what we find and be clear about what preparation can and cannot promise.
LOCAL KNOW-HOW
For September 2028 entry, the Consortium has announced two papers covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and mathematics. The eligibility threshold is a standardised score of 111. Eligibility is not an offer of a school place; each school’s admissions policy still applies.
The Secondary Transfer Test assesses verbal, mathematical and non-verbal skills. A standardised score of 121 or above meets the usual qualification threshold, but admission depends on the individual school's policy and available places.
Test providers, dates and admission rules can change. Always check the official school and council information for your child's entry year.

11+ TUTORING
Your child doesn’t need a mountain of worksheets to prove they’re working hard.
We’ll look at the skills behind the questions, identify what’s secure and focus on the gaps that matter. Sessions can cover verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and maths as appropriate to the relevant test.
I’ll explain progress in plain English, so you know what to practise at home without turning every evening into a battle.
