WHAT WE CAN WORK ON

BUILD CONFIDENCE. GO DEEPER.

If your child already knows the basics, we can move on to more demanding questions and work on explaining their reasoning. If there are gaps, we’ll identify which ones are holding them back.

  • Maths. Build fluency and tackle unfamiliar, multi-step problems.
  • English. Practise close reading, develop an argument and write clearly under timed conditions.
  • Science. Strengthen understanding of key concepts and apply them to exam questions.

We’ll discuss the subject, exam board and tier where relevant, and agree what I can support before you book paid lessons.

HOW IT WORKS

YOUR FREE 45-MINUTE LEARNING REVIEW.

We start with a free 45-minute learning review. There’s nothing to prepare, though recent schoolwork or teacher feedback is welcome. We’ll talk about how school is going, what your child wants to achieve and which subject to focus on first.

Your child will try a short set of questions in one agreed subject. These might involve solving and explaining a maths problem, analysing a short English Language extract, or applying a science idea to a new question. I’ll see what they can do independently, then talk through a question together to see which prompts help.

Afterwards I’ll send you a short written summary of their strengths, where they could use support or more challenge, and what I’d work on first. If you’d like to continue, we’ll agree a pace that fits around school and review it as your child progresses. Tuition can support a specific goal, such as a mock exam, or continue through to GCSEs.
